What does the interview consist of?

First-round interviews consist of behavioral and case interviews. Final-round interviews vary depending on the position, with internship and business analyst candidates experiencing additional behavioral and case interviews, while MBAs and experienced hires may also have a case presentation.

Behavioral interviews assess past behavior and performance to predict future success. They are more conversational, with candidates sharing examples of their work and decision-making processes. Candidates should paint a clear picture of the situation, explaining the interpersonal dynamics, external influences, and their rationale, so that the interviewer can understand why they made the decisions they did.

Case interviews present candidates with a new challenge to solve. Candidates should demonstrate their problem-solving skills and approach to real-world scenarios. It is important to be authentic and share the solution that they truly believe is best, rather than trying to guess what the interviewer wants to hear.

How should I prepare?

The case interview requires you to organize and analyze extensively. The behavioral interview requires to present yourself truthfully and effectively communicate your background. We’ve put together some tips and steps you can take to make the problem solving process as productive as possible.

  • Come ready to play. Organize your thoughts and data, but don't overthink it. If you don't have data, make up a hypothesis and have fun with it.

  • Stay on topic, but don't be afraid to wander. State your goal and focus on your strongest arguments, but don't be afraid to go off on a tangent or two. The interviewers want to get to know you, so let your personality shine through.

  • Be yourself, but don't be afraid to be different. Bring your own unique perspective to the interview, and don't be afraid to challenge the status quo. The interviewers want to find people who will think outside the box and help them solve problems in new and innovative ways.

  • Be confident, but don't be afraid to be humble. Believe in yourself and your abilities, but don't be afraid to admit that you don't know everything. The interviewers want to find people who are passionate about learning and growing.

  • Smile and have fun! Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but it's important to remember that the interviewers are on your side. They want you to succeed, so relax, be yourself, and enjoy the process.
